Betty Francisco – General Counsel, Compass Working Capital,Co-Founder, Amplify Latinx and Latina Circle

Betty Francisco is a seasoned business executive, board director, investor and community leader. She has over 20 years of experience advising high growth start-ups, non-profits, life sciences, technology and health and wellness companies in the areas of legal, compliance, risk management, operations and human resources. The Boston Business Journal named Betty as one of the 2020 Power 50 – Extraordinary Year Extraordinary People, and in 2018, Boston Magazine named her as one of the 100 Most Influential People in Boston.

Currently, Betty is the General Counsel at Compass Working Capital where she serves as the organization’s chief legal advisor. She is the co-founder of Latina Circle/Amplify Latinx, a Boston-based social venture focused on increasing Latinx economic and political power in the Commonwealth. Previously, she served as EVP, General Counsel for Sports Club/LA and Reebok Sports Club/NY, a fitness brand acquired by Equinox Fitness. Betty began her legal career as a Senior Business Law Associate at Edwards Wildman, one of Boston’s largest law firms representing start-ups, corporations and investors.

Outside of work, Betty is a member of the Board of Directors of Beth Israel Lahey Health, the second largest health care system in Massachusetts. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Nellie Mae Education Foundation, the largest philanthropy in New England dedicated exclusively to education; the Board of Directors of the Boston Foundation, one of the oldest and largest community foundations in the nation; the Board of Trustees of Roxbury Community College; and the Investment Committee of Boston Impact Initiative Fund, which invests integrated capital in regenerative local enterprises. She is also an entrepreneur and angel investor with Pipeline Angels and Portfolia. Betty obtained her J.D. and M.B.A. from Northeastern University, and her B.A. in History from Bard College. Shila Nieves Burney, General Partner at Zane Venture Fund

Shila Nieves Burney has spent a 20+ year professional career working closely with leading organizations and exceptional talents to create solutions that address disparities through investment in human capital. Her super-power is connecting!

After spending a year sourcing investors for a startup that culminated in a $5M term sheet, mentoring and advising founders of color, Shila was able to see first hand challenges diverse entrepreneurs face getting access to capital and the resources they needed to grow and scale their companies.

She founded ZANE Venture Fund, a seed fund that would invest in underrepresented founders with the goal of closing the funding gap and generating high returns for investors, and Zane Access which provides early-stage companies led by diverse teams access to cross-functional experts, resources, best practices and customized content critical to accelerating growth.

Scott Kallick, Angel Investor

Scott Kallick is a Business Coach, member of the International Coach federation, and Founder of Transformative Business Coaching. Scott is also a Graduate of the Accomplishment Coaching School of Coaching, and a trained Ontological Coach.

Scott partners with Business Owners, C-level executives, and non-profit corporations to challenge their mindsets, move them toward their highest possibility, and define their stretch goals toward a future of their creation.

Having been a hand-on owner of a company that grew from a boutique valet service business operating out of a garage to over 2000 customers in fourteen States in a twenty five year period, Scott brings a wealth of experience in strategy, sales, and customer relations to the table.

Scott has developed a heart based leadership model, from which communication to employees, vendors, and customers can reach a new level of cooperation and alignment.

In addition to his experience, Scott is deeply committed to his clients, and to seeing them realize their hopes and chrystalize their visions, to attain an optimal future. Co-actively working as a trusted advisor, and a professional trained to listen deeply at several levels, Scott believes that his coaching can bring about transformation.
