Alan Philips, Chief Creative Officer for REEF

Alan Philips, REEF’s Chief Creative Officer, is a creative executive, entrepreneur, writer, & speaker specializing in guiding & inspiring individuals and organizations on the path to discovering their purpose & unlocking their creative potential. Alan has over two decades of experience in hospitality, food & beverage, real estate, and entrepreneurship, working with some of the world’s most recognized organizations, people, and brands. Alan’s career began with a culinary stage with chef Wolfgang Puck at the original Spago restaurant on Sunset Boulevard. Later, he maintained positions with Myriad Restaurant Group & Strategic Group. From there he launched a hospitality consulting firm, Sky Group, developing hospitality projects nationally & internationally and brought the first “pop up” restaurants to New York, going on to execute more than a dozen such ventures and helping ignite the trend. Alan has also led concepting, marketing, & development of boutique hotels with Morgans Hotel Group, served as Senior Vice President of Brand Experience with The We Company (formerly WeWork), and led marketing, digital and innovation as Chief Marketing Officer at Turnberry. Most recently Alan managed the development of brand and product for Mint House, a technology enabled short-term rental start-up developing the first purpose built hotel for business travelers.

Christine Schindler, CEO and Co-founder of PathSpot

Christine Schindler is the CEO and co-founder of PathSpot, a technology company protecting businesses and their customers from the threat of illnesses and outbreaks. An engineer and entrepreneur passionate about utilizing technology to overcome gaps in healthcare, Christine invented PathSpot’s hand scanner to instantly detect carriers of harmful contamination that commonly spread through poor handwashing.

PathSpot has scanned millions of hands around the country at major restaurant chains, airports, schools, manufacturing facilities, and more. The technology has been featured as one of TIME’s Best Inventions, a World Changing Idea by Fast Company, and a leading tool in the industry to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Corey Manicone, Co-Founder and CEO of Zuul

Corey’s earliest memories were in his family’s restaurants — giving him first-hand experience as to just how archaic and challenging the restaurant industry can be. Fast forward to 2015, Corey had the opportunity as the first employee at Relay Delivery to scale throughout New York City. While at Relay, Corey witnessed the exploding delivery trend and realized there was a massive opportunity to very thoughtfully and strategically design real estate to help optimize for delivery — while being a true operational partner to restaurant operators. Thus, Zuul was born with the mission to help people thrive in the business of food.

Gregory Zamfotis, Founder & CEO of Gregorys Coffee

Gregory grew up in the food business, his father owned and operated fast-casual restaurants in New York City throughout his entire life. Despite working in and around food from a young age, Gregory decided to pursue an education in finance. Gregory graduated magna cum laude from Boston University’s School of Management with a double concentration in Finance and Operations Management and a minor in Philosophy. He then enrolled in Brooklyn Law School to pursue a potential career in corporate law. Following graduation, he sat for the New York State Bar exam, and passed. At that point, what appeared to be his classic legal career trajectory took an unusual turn. Gregory decided he would follow his heart and create a New York-based specialty coffee company, Gregorys Coffee.

Fourteen years later, there are thirty-three Gregorys Coffee retail locations (NY/NJ/DC), two bakeries, one roasting facility, and five more retail sites under construction. Gregorys Coffee’s slogan is “see coffee differently,” a message that rings clear as CEO Gregory Zamfotis continues to push his business to disrupt the specialty coffee industry.
